How long will I continue to have hot flashes? - flashes

55 years old. Leave the time 4 years ago, but the hot flashes and insomnia are not yet finalized. Extremely severe hot flashes, especially at night. I have read reports that this type of symptoms should be only for one year. I have heart failure, so I can not use hormone replacement therapy. How long will I live with it?
